Welcome to my personal website
Welcome!
Never stop learning. That is my moto.
The 'Learner' is my most prominent (Clifton) strength, followed by the 'Includer' and the 'Restorative'. That is to say that I am energized by solving problems and by learning new skills, while being mindful and intentional about inclusion. No, this is not paid advertisement. I am genuinely interested in leadership. I come from an engineering background and had first hand experience with good and bad management. I believe that a good manager should develop the ability to identify the strengths of each member of the team. Hence, I seek to learn about the topic.
As a scientist, my interests lie at the intersection of data science, operations research, and communication systems. I use machine learning and artificial intelligence tools and concepts on a daily basis, and I am fascinated by all the things that I don't know in this area. Again, constantly learning. And to me, there is no better way to learn than teaching. I like to give presentations and enjoy mentorship activities.
As a human, I am interested in psychology, neuroscience, environmental issues, and inclusion. I am a female with origin in Latin America. During my undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering, women represented about 12% of my class. Fifteen years later, the representation of female students in engineering is roughly 20%. Engineering is still predominantly a white male field. Needless to say, diversity and inclusion are values that are very close to my heart. I am still searching for more ways to make a difference.
